Kamehameha, Radford cheerleaders run streaks to 5
Kamehameha cheerleaders celebrated after being announced as champions of the large division at yesterday's Zippy's State Cheerleading Championships. Radford prevailed in the middle division.
Kamehameha's precise routine ended with a drop on a lift, opening the door for a rival to block the Warriors from their fifth straight title. Instead, that drop turned out to be a 5-point deduction the Warriors could handle. They led the division with 314.5 points, while Moanalua (303.5) and Mililani (303.5) followed.
Radford had a drop on a lift early in its routine, but endured to tally 286 points to get past Waiakea (279.5) and Kapolei (276.5). The Rams have won the last five medium crowns, all under coach Bo Frank.
