Chaminade knocks off UHH

Shane Hanson scored nine points and Chandler Pearson had 12 points and 13 rebounds to lead Chaminade to a 77-64 victory over Hawaii-Hilo in a PacWest men's basketball game yesterday at McCabe Gym.

Hanson had five of Chaminade's dozen 3-pointers as the Silverswords (2-4) shot 51 percent in the game. Steven Bennett chipped in 15 points and seven assists and Matt Cousins had 10 points and six rebounds.

Bryan Ngo led the Vulcans (2-3) with a game-high 21 points and Justin Smith added 12 on 6-for-9 shooting.
