Assisting Roy were three of his key people, Jackie Lau, Jason Ichiki and Shawn Motoda. SubZero's Jean Nakanishi, Jean Myers and Kurt Hargens helped make things work. … SWEET DIGS: The Halekulani invited a large crowd to view its three $7,000-a-night suites Tuesday eve. Guests sipped wines and enjoyed snacks as they as they looked over the new Orchid suite and the Royal and Vera Wang suites. All have marvelous views. “;This the first time all three suites have been shown together,”; said Halekulani Corp. Chief Operating Officer Peter Shaindlin. “;We wanted to introduce the premier suites to the community.”; Being a music lover, he is quite proud of the $250,000 Steinway and Lyngdorf entertainment lounge with its fab sound in the Orchid suite. Peter is board chair of the financially strapped Honolulu Symphony. “;There is a very good chance it will survive,”; he said Tuesday. Peter is well suited to head the symphony board. He was a musicians union member at 17, played trumpet in New York clubs, and for the Les and Larry Elgert band. That means he can really play, and he still does.
