ENTER TO WIN!

Keiki Kalikimaka contest under way

Kids, help us trim our pages with the holiday spirit. It's time for our annual Keiki Kalikimaka drawing contest. Design an ornament and you'll have a chance at our prize of $100 cash.

We'll select a daily finalist, to be printed on Page 3 of the paper. On Christmas Eve we'll run all 28 finalists and announce the winner.

The contest is open to kids up to age 12. All entries must be between 5 and 8 inches wide. No 3-D entries (don't glue on any objects). We must receive your drawing in the mail—no faxes or e-mails. Attach the entry form below. Entries must be received by Dec. 20.

WHAT'S IN STORE

Jeweler crafts a happy hunt

If you've been reluctant to enter the realm of social media, you might want to jump in now.

There's a whole world of interactivity between businesses and those wired up to take advantage of special deals and offers only available to participants.

Hildgund Jewelry has caught on to the Facebook frenzy and Twitter mania, and in celebration of its 136th anniversary in Hawaii and in the giving spirit of the season, the company will be giving away nearly $50,000 in merchandise.

The only way to find the 136 white gift boxes with gold bows being placed in public locations throughout Oahu, Maui and the Big Island this month is to follow the clues offered by becoming a fan of Hildgund Jewelry on Facebook, or following HildgundJewelry at twitter.com/HildgundJewelry. Four boxes will be hidden per day, with 12 to be hidden on Christmas Day.

It'll be a merry Christmas indeed for those who find the pieces, which range in value from $100 to $8,000, with “;no strings attached,”; says Hildgund president Bruce Bucky.

Those who find the pieces and want to learn more about them are welcome to call or visit one of the stores at the Kahala Hotel and J.W. Marriott Hotel on Oahu; Four Seasons Resort on Maui; and Four Seasons Hualalai, Mauna Lani Bay Hotel and Mauna Kea Beach Hotel on the Big Island.

Hildgund also will be leaving 136 meal vouchers at various parks and shelter locations for Hawaii's homeless.
