Brian Viloria will fight Carlos Tamara, the mandated challenger by the International Boxing Federation, for Viloria's IBF light-flyweight title Jan. 23 in the Philippines.
Viloria's manager, Gary Gittelsohn, confirmed the bout yesterday.
Viloria (26-2, 15 KOs) was originally going to fight Omar Nino Romero this month, but the two sides couldn't agree on a deal. Tamara (20-4, 14 KOs) is the next-highest-ranked boxer by the IBF willing to fight for the title.
Viloria hasn't fought since his unanimous-decision victory over Jesus Iribe at the Blaisdell Arena in August. The Colombian-born Tamara has won six of his last seven fights.
