The Pearl Harbor Kai Elementary School Kids Care Club raised $138 at its annual Family Fun Fair to help feed homeless people living at the Institute of Human Services in Honolulu. During Kids Care Week, Oct. 18-24, the club made princess crowns that were sold at the school fair. The Pearl Harbor club was one of more than 1,800 nationwide Kids Care Clubs, a program of the Hands On Network, to participate in the Microfinance for Kids and Feed the Hungry projects.

Employees and members of the HawaiiUSA Federal Credit Union donated more than $4,000 and 1,800 pounds of food in a drive to help families assisted by the nonprofit HUGS (Help Understanding and Group Support) on Oahu and Maui.
