Chabad of Hawaii will hold a memorial service tomorrow for victims of terrorist attacks in Mumbai, India, a year ago.

Local speakers and a televised broadcast with international dignitaries will be featured in the 9:30 a.m. program at the Chabad offices in the Ala Moana Hotel. It is open to the public.

The event will memorialize six people who were killed in a Mumbai Jewish center run by Chabad Lubavitch, an international Orthodox Jewish organization. They were among 166 people who were killed in attacks Nov. 26, 2008, at several locations by 10 gunmen.

Rabbi Itchel Krasnjansky of Chabad of Hawaii will lead the local memorial service. Honolulu resident Shaaroni Wong, who worked at the Mumbai center months before the attack, will share her experiences there.

The televised Mumbai Memorial Tribute, which will air in Chabad centers worldwide, includes remarks by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Nobel laureate Elie Wiesel and the chief rabbis of Israel.
