“;Hawaii Family Portraits,”; an exhibit of photos of Hawaii's gay and lesbian families, will be presented by the Family Equality Foundation Hawaii in a sneak preview Tuesday at the annual World AIDS Day memorial at the Parish of St. Clement, 1515 Wilder Ave.

The photos will be on display from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The Life Foundation and the Department of Health will hold a memorial service at 6:30 p.m. with performances by the Honolulu Men's Chorus, the Kananiokeakua School of Hula and the music group Kupaoa.

The annual Suzanne Richmond-Crum award for outstanding contributions to HIV/AIDS services in Hawaii will be presented, as well as youth leadership awards. A reception will be held after the memorial to view the Hawaii Family Portraits.

World AIDS Day began in 1988 to fight prejudice, raise awareness and take action against AIDS.

About 3,000 people in Hawaii are living with HIV/AIDS, according to the Life Foundation, which provides testing and services to people with the disease.

Nationally, about 33.2 million people are living with HIV, including 2.5 million children, the foundation said.
