Hawaii hotel workers are lending their support today to a national battle to restore jobs for 100 Boston area Hyatt housekeepers.

About 300 Unite Here Local 5 members will join the Hyatt Solidarity 100 movement when they hold a sign waving and rally on behalf of the fired workers outside of the Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort and Spa. Workers are slated to protest from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. and again from 4:30 to 5:15 p.m. They will wear red “;Hope for Housekeepers”; T-shirts.

“;What Hyatt is doing to those housekeepers in Boston is outrageous and we're not going to let it happen here as we get ready to negotiate our own contract in 2010,”; said Aida Agustin, a 32-year housekeeper at the Hyatt Regency Waikiki.
