Baby born on board diverted flight

A flight from Los Angeles to Sydney diverted to Hono-olulu on Friday after a woman gave birth to a premature infant on the plane.
Two doctors on board the flight and crew members helped deliver the baby girl, said Amanda Bolger, a spokeswoman for the airline, V Australia. The baby was eight weeks premature.
Bolger confirmed that V Australia Flight 2 left Los Angeles about 8:45 p.m. for Sydney.
But about four hours into the flight, when the plane was about 900 miles southeast of Honolulu, the woman went into labor.
The flight arrived about 12:35 a.m., about an hour and 45 minutes after the decision to divert to Honolulu.
No information was available on the infant's condition.
The plane refueled and reached Sydney after a five-hour delay, the airline said.
