The other shops and their artists are Tiffany, Rick Mills' glass and mixed media sculpture; Tod's, Aaron Padilla's wood sculpture; Gucci, Scott Fitzel's paintings; Coach, Ron Smith's wood and metal sculpture; Yves Saint Laurent, Jaisy Hanlon, watercolor paintings with metal silhouette; and Hugo Boss, Daven Hee, ceramics ...

Quiz answer: Joe Leineweber is the proud dad who sent me the word about the Sacred Hearts Intermediate volleyball team that went through the year undefeated with 20 victories. His daughter Maria Leineweber is a ninth-grader on the team. I'm sure Joe's golfing buddies at Mid-Pac knew he was the dad who wanted recognition for the team when they saw that a Leineweber was mentioned as a team member in last week's column ...

Mailani Makainai, '98, sang to open the entertainment. A powerhouse trio of pros followed. Air National Guard Maj. Gen. Darryll Wong, '68, was emcee.

Former basketball coach and athletic director Tony Sellitto, former basketball and volleyball coach Robert “;Donkey”; Dunaway, '49, and the late athlete Pio Sagapolutele, '87, were the first inductees in the Maryknoll Hall of Fame for their outstanding service. Laurie Hong Wong, '56, won the Spark and Spirit award. The event was held in the gym. Athletic Director Pattie Wong Heatherly, '66, was the key organizer. She is the youngest daughter of Charley and Helen Wong, co-owners of Charley's Tavern, a popular McCully neighborhood bar in the good old days, near old Honolulu Stadium ...

More school days: Keith Haugen reports that his wife and singing partner, the former Carmen Sarmiento, was in Baldwin's 1959 Hawaii Statehood Class on Maui. School senior song leader Carmen led the class in the alma mater at the reunion banquet earlier this year, and Keith and Carmen entertained. The class donated $10,500 to the school. Heavy donors were '59 classmates Ron Migita and his wife, the former Lella Tokumaru. Ronald is board chairman, CEO and president of Central Pacific Bank ...
