U.S. VETS-Hawaii, which provides housing for homeless veterans, will hold its Annual 5K Patriot Walk/Run on Saturday to raise funds for the program.

The event will begin with pre-race ceremonies at 7:45 a.m. at the Waterfront at Puuloa, formerly known as Iroquois Point Island Club, 5105 Iroquois Ave., Ewa Beach. The 3.1-mile walk/run starts at 8 a.m.

“;During the holidays, our veterans need us the most and we want to be there for them,”; Darryl Vincent, U.S. VETS Na-tional Programs director, said in a news release.

U.S. VETS, at Kalaeloa, provides affordable housing for Korean and Vietnam war veterans and also serves returning soldiers from Iraq and Afghanistan.

“;No Veteran Left Behind”; is the theme of the walk/run. Participants are encouraged to wear red, white and blue and carry flags in honor of a loved one who is serving in the armed forces or who is a veteran.
