Artist clears out fine-art stock

Native Hawaiian fine artist and illustrator Solomon Enos is clearing out his fine-art inventory and putting it up for sale Wednesday.

Enos will be selling original paintings, high-quality reproductions, prints, books and greeting cards. Prints will sell for as low as $20, and the artist is discounting custom orders made at the sale. An “;as is”; bin will hold items that will sell for $10. Enos will be on hand to sign all works, except the “;as is”; items.

Shopping mall mixes in art

Waikiki's upscale shopping area, Luxury Row at 2100 Kalakaua Ave., will present the work of “;Hawaii's Modern Masters”; at each of its retail stores from Thursday to Nov. 30.

Tiffany & Co. will spotlight glass and mixed-media works by Rick Mills; Coach will show wood and metal sculpture by Ron Smith; Yves Saint Laurent, watercolors of Jaisy Hanlon; Chanel, paintings by Satoru Abe, Harry Tsuchidana and Robert Kobayashi; Gucci, paintings and other work by Scott Fitzel; Tod's, wood sculpture by Aaron Padilla; and Hugo Boss, ceramics of Daven Hee.

The works will be on display 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily inside each boutique.

Art colleges offer critiques

Young artists on Maui can take advantage of “;Portfolio Day,”; 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 15 at the Hui Noeau Visual Arts Center.

The free event provides high-school students the opportunity to consult one on one with representatives from fine-arts colleges to get critiques on their work and discuss their college plans.

Among the educators attending are Cari L. Mclalwain of Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle, Robynne Royster of San Francisco's California College of the Arts and Sarah Kamsler of Pacific Northwest College of Art in Portland, Ore.
