Pumpkin pulp damages drains
Pumpkin carving season has arrived, and Mr. Rooter Plumbing service is warning carvers to keep pumpkin seeds and guts away from the kitchen sink.
Pumpkin pulp can clog drains and damage garbage disposals.
Maurice Torigoe of the Mr. Rooter Oahu franchise explains that the orange substance hardens and sticks to pipes.
He recommends carving pumpkins on a newspaper so the remains can be easily thrown away or used for compost. The pumpkin seeds can also be saved for cooking.
