Stabbing suspect still at large but is known

Police were looking for a 27-year-old man who allegedly stabbed a man in his 20s yesterday in Mililani.

Bryan Cheplic, Emergency Services Department spokesman, said the man was taken in critical condition to a hospital shortly before 1 a.m.

Police said the suspect was driving when he shouted at the victim, who was standing outside his friend's house on Makapipipi Street. The victim followed the suspect and they fought in another area.

Police Sgt. Henry Holcombe said the suspect was known but as yet unnamed.

He said the victim was taken to the Queen's Medical Center with numerous stab wounds to his back and neck.

Police have opened a second-degree attempted murder case.

 

Woman faces assault and escape charges

Police arrested a 20-year-old Wahiawa woman after she allegedly punched an officer.

Police arrested the suspect at 10:50 p.m. Saturday for allegedly operating a vehicle under the influence of an intoxicant.

She was transported to the Kapolei Police Station, where she freed one of her hands from the handcuffs and climbed out of the patrol car.

The suspect was walking toward the exit of the station when the officer tried to stop her, police said. She punched him and scratched his face, police said.

He was taken to Hawaii Medical Center West, where he was treated and released.

The 20-year-old woman was taken into custody and arrested on suspicion of second-degree attempted escape and first-degree assault against a law enforcement officer.

 

Man dies after being pulled in from bay

A man who appeared to be in his 50s died yesterday in an apparent drowning at Pokai Bay, a Honolulu Emergency Services Department spokesman said.

Lifeguards pulled the man from the water at 3:09 p.m. and rendered aid until paramedics arrived, said spokesman Bryan Cheplic.

Paramedics took the man in critical condition to the hospital, where he died, Cheplic said.

 

Teen allegedly rapes 5-year-old relative

Police arrested a male juvenile for allegedly sexually assaulting a 5-year-old girl.

The victim told her mother that the suspect, 15, described to be a family member, sexually assaulted her last Monday.

Patrol officers arrested the suspect over the weekend on suspicion of first-degree sexual assault.

He was released pending further investigation.
