Two men have been charged in the robbery of a Pensacola Street women's clothing store last week.

Lance C. Nakada, 39, was held yesterday for first-degree robbery and kidnapping, unable to post $75,000 bail. Grant Onogi, 46, was charged with second-degree robbery and was held on $50,000 bail.

Nakada, of Ala Moana, and Onogi, of Kalihi Valley, were charged in connection with the robbery Wednesday at La Parisienne consignment store at 1188 Pensacola St.

According to a police affidavit, Onogi entered the store and tried to sell the store owner, a 71-year-old woman, a pair of designer sunglasses.

A second suspect followed Onogi into the store and after the store owner went to wait on him, police said the second man hit the owner with a weapon and tied her with tape.

Police later identified the second suspect as Nakada.

Another 70-year-old woman, a friend who had been visiting, heard the owner yell to her to “;push the alarm button,”; a court affidavit said.

Onogi grabbed the friend and pulled her to the ground where she was punched in the face, the affidavit said.

After the men fled, the friend noticed the Rolex watch and a 1.5-carat diamond ring she was wearing were missing, police said.

Police said Onogi had previous dealings with the store owner at a bar where he worked as a janitor and she was able to identify him as one of the alleged robbers.
