Marley, Aswad headline 'Reggae Fest'

The Marley family will be on hand today for “;Reggae Fest 2009,”; as Ky-Mani Marley makes the trip to Honolulu to share the Waikiki Shell stage with reggae legends Aswad.

The son of Bob Marley and Anita Belnavis, Ky-Mani Marley rose to fame with his 1996 album, “;Like Father Like Son,”; which featured the younger Marley performing covers of his father's music. His latest album, “;Radio,”; was released in 2007.

Tanya Stephens, Collie Buddz and I-Wayne are also scheduled to perform; a second show may be added tomorrow if today's concert sells out.

Nightclub courts fashionistas

The Ward Centre restaurant formerly known as Brew Moon reopens this weekend as Paparazzi, a new restaurant/nightclub concept by local businessman George Kail.

Known for opening nightclubs such as The Maze, Blue Zebra and Pink Cadillac, Kail's newest offering promises to provide customers with “;eclectic lunch and dinner menus, a relaxing pau hana menu for the after-work crowd and an unforgettable late night drink menu for those looking for the 'flashiest' nightlife experience around.”;

Get a taste of the “;fresh, clean elegance”; that is “;perfect for the ueber fashion-conscious crowd”; during Paparazzi's grand opening party tomorrow. A fashion show also is planned, featuring the work of Salon Blanc, Cherbu Cosmetics and Tom Kitchell Modeling along with clothes from Fashionista's Market.
