Idaho player Keo arrested

MOSCOW, IDAHO » A University of Idaho defensive player was arrested in connection with a weekend fight following the team's 35-23 victory over Hawaii on Saturday.

Safety Shiloh Keo turned himself in Tuesday and was cited for misdemeanor battery before he was released, Moscow Assistant Chief of Police David Duke said.

Keo is due to be arraigned in early November.

He leads the 6-1 Vandals with 64 total tackles, including 38 by himself. He also has three interceptions.

Joni Kirk, a spokeswoman for Idaho, said the incident is under review.

Hawaii-Hilo players honored

Three Hawaii-Hilo softball players have been named as National Fastpitch Coaches Association scholar-athletes.

Amber Waracka, who will be back for her sophomore year, earned the honor along with two players who are not returning next season — Brianne Adams and Malia Naukana-Christensen.

Carll, Pakkala win 4-ball match play

Kevin Carll and Matt Pakkala teamed up to beat Kevin Hayashi and Lance Taketa 3 and 1 in the Aloha Section 4-Ball Match Play Championship final at Oahu Country Club yesterday.

Carll put the win away by driving the par-4 17th hole and making an eagle putt.

BYUH triumphs

Brigham Young-Hawaii swept Academy of Art 25-20, 25-19, 31-29 in women's volleyball last night at Laie.
