Kapolei Property Development, in partnership with Grace Pacific Corp., D.R. Horton Schuler Division and Wal-Mart, gave the 2009 Kapolei Outstanding Achievement Awards to:
» 'Ahahui Siwila Hawaii O Kapolei, for community service in the organization category;
» Kurt Fevella, of the Ewa Weed & Seed Initiative, for community service in the individual category;
» Gentry Homes Ltd., environment;
» Annette Nishikawa, of Kapolei Middle School, education;
» Kerry D. Pitcher, of Ka Punawai Ola Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, business leader;
» Jonathan Allen, of Kapolei High School, leader under age 35.
Hyundai Motor America's national Hyundai Hope on Wheels Tour donated $20,000 to Kapiolani Medical Center for Women & Children.
Iolani School's Albert H. Stone Memorial Scholarship program has received $15,000 from the Bank of Hawaii Charitable Foundation. The scholarship provides full tuition and books to 24 students each year.
