Expect the big hits from the '80s and '90s at Blaisdell tomorrow, featuring R&B starlets En Vogue
It's going to be a major blast from the past when En Vogue, the Jets, Ready for the World and the Cover Girls play the Mega '80s and '90s Festival this weekend.
The re-formed En Vogue — made up of the original quartet of Terry Ellis, Cindy Herron, Maxine Jones and Dawn Robinson — will be doing their smash R&B hits “;My Lovin' (You're Never Gonna Get It),”; their sultry cover of the 1976 original by Aretha Franklin; “;Giving Him Something He Can Feel”;; “;Free Your Mind”;; “;Give It Up Turn It Loose”;; “;Love Don't Love You”;; “;Runaway Love”;; and “;Don't Let Go (Love).”;
The Tongan family group from the Midwest, the Jets, are known for “;Crush on You,”; “;You Got It All,”; “;Cross My Broken Heart”; and “;Rocket 2 U.”; “;Oh Sheila”; and “;Love You Down”; were big hits for Ready for the World, and the Cover Girls (comprised of, since 2001, Evelyn Escalera, Lorraine Munoz and Sabrina Nieves) will be singing at the show “;Because of You,”; “;Promise Me,”; “;Show Me”; and their cover of Rose Royce's 1978 “;Wishing on a Star.”;

Sea Life Park invites reggae fans of all ages to “;Reggae by the Bay”; tonight in Waimanalo.
Gates open at 6 p.m., with opening sets by local bands Natural Vibrations, Ai Pohaku, Most High, Super Dub 5 and Jah Maoli. The evening will conclude with a headlining set by San Diego's Tribal Seeds, who released their latest album, “;The Harvest,”; in June.
“;Reggae by the Bay”; is presented by Outerspace Entertainment and radio station Island 98.5, with support from Holiday Inn Waikiki and Coors Light.

Concert afterparty at Restaurant Row
Bonsai Japanese Restaurant + Lounge celebrates its first birthday tomorrow with a special edition of “;Sapphire”; that doubles as the official afterparty for the “;Mega '80s & '90s Music Festival”; at Blaisdell Arena.
Once En Vogue, The Jets, Ready for the World and the Cover Girls wrap up their concert, the party moves to Restaurant Row for dancing with DJs Doggfather and Kutmaster Spaz. Local photographer Russell Tanoue also will be on hand to host a fashion show, and Ready for the World is confirmed to make an appearance at the afterparty.
