Kristina Merkle's collegiate career hasn't even lasted a month.

But in that time, the Moanalua graduate and Tulsa freshman has already picked up her first college win at the Johnie Imes Invitational and recorded second- and third-place finishes in the Golden Hurricanes' other two tournaments.

Yersterday, she was awarded her second consecutive Conference USA golfer of the week award after her one-stroke victory in a tournament that ended Tuesday.

Four of Merkle's seven rounds played have been even par or better, including a 66 in a tournament in Manhattan, Kan., that broke the tournament record.

She returns home for her next tournament when Tulsa competes in the Turtle Bay Resort College Invitational Nov. 2-4.
