All-America honors for Ordie
Kauai junior Kelli Oride has been named an HP Scholastic Junior All-American.
Oride, who golfs for the Red Raiders girls' team, has a 4.0 cumulative GPA and is an active member of the Key Club. In June, she captured her second AJGA victory at the ClubCorp Mission Hills Desert Junior championships.
Twelve different men and women from around the country were chosen to receive the award.
Seasiders claim No. 1 ranking in basketball
The BYU-Hawaii men's basketball team achieved its first preseason No. 1 ranking in school history yesterday.
The Seasiders sit stop the Division II Bulletin preseason poll after finishing last season 27-2 and advancing to the NCAA II West Regional championship game.
BYU-Hawaii returns Daktronics NCAA II National Player of the Year Lucas Alves and four other key players.
The Seasiders begin their season with an exhibition against Hawaii Nov. 5 at the Stan Sheriff Center.
