Oahu HECO bills to see 1.3% hike

Oahu households will see a slight jump in their electricity bill in October.

The typical household bill (600 kilowatt-hours a month) on Oahu is expected to jump 1.3 percent to $147.64 from $145.81 in September, a smaller than the jump from August to September. A 4.7 percent interim rate increase went into effect in August. On Maui the typical bill will go up to $165.76, 4.2 percent higher than in September. The Big Island continues to have the highest average at $206.35, 1.8 percent higher than $202.63 in September.

The effective rates, which include fuel and other charges, for October are 23.10 cents/kwh for Oahu, 26.29 cents/kwh for Maui and 32.54 cents/kwh for the Big Island.

Mesa transfers stock to capital

Mesa Air Group Inc., the parent company of interisland carrier go!, says its stock will move to the Nasdaq Capital Market from the Nasdaq Global Market.

With the switch, which occurs tomorrow, the company said it expects to be granted another 180 days, or until April 1, to demonstrate compliance with the minimum bid price requirement of Capital Market.
