Activities set for astronomy center

Celebrate the International Year of Astronomy at a free Galileo Block Party Oct. 24 on Aohoku Street, above the Imiloa Astronomy Center of Hawaii on the Big Island. Educational activities will explain the latest discoveries. Participants who get their “;passports”; stamped will also gain free admission to Imiloa.

Imiloa also presents a trick-or-treat alternative, 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 31. The Halloween Spooky Science Hall features exhibits including “;Alien Autopsy,”; and “;Brains in Space.”; Complete a “;Spooky Hall Pass”; to receive a treat bag.
