The Aloha Medical Mission is sending medical supplies to tsunami victims in American Samoa and Tropical Storm Ketsana victims in the Philippines.

Donated medicine and supplies valued at more than $5,000 will be flown to the Philippines by Hawaiian Airlines. Dr. Amy Jacang, a volunteer, will travel with the supplies and assess the flood victims' needs.

“;Following this initial aid, we are sending two missions to the Philippines in the coming months,”; Dr. Bradley Wong, AMM president, said in a news release.

Hawaiian Airlines also is flying medicines and supplies free of charge from the Aloha Medical Mission to American Samoa.

The medical mission said it will earmark part of the proceeds from a benefit concert, “;Four Doctors, a Patient and a Sweetheart (Grammy-nominated Raiatea Helm)”; to victims in the two areas. The concert will be at 7 p.m. Dec. 10 at the Blaisdell Concert Hall.
