Question: The Humane Society's PetWalk is this Sunday, but I thought pets are not allowed in parks.
Answer: Pets are not allowed in some parks, but the county makes an annual exception for the Hawaiian Humane Society at Magic Island, where pets are otherwise prohibited. On Sunday thousands of animal lovers who have been collecting donations for the charity will walk around Magic Island and Ala Moana Park to celebrate the Humane Society's programs and services.
There are more than 40 parks where leashed dogs are welcome; a list is posted at hawaiianhumane.org.
