Hawaii's Bourne is player of week
Hawaii's Britta Bourne was picked as the Western Athletic Conference soccer offensive player of the week, the league announced yesterday.
Bourne scored two goals and had an assist for five points in two victories over Detroit-Mercy. She had the game-winner in the 68th minute of a 1-0 win, and also assisted on the game-winner in a 2-0 victory.
Hawaii-Hilo 19th in D-II poll
Hawaii-Hilo moved up three spots to 19th in yesterday's AVCA Division II Coaches Top 25 volleyball poll.
The Vulcans are 13-0 overall and 3-0 in the PacWest Conference.
Concordia-St. Paul (17-0) remained the unanimous No. 1 pick, followed by Cal State San Bernardino (14-0), UC San Diego (14-1), Tampa (13-1) and Central Missouri (15-3).
Bukoski is player of week
Hawaii Pacific sophomore Chance Bukoski is the PacWest's men's soccer player of the week.
Bukoski scored three goals in a 4-0 win over Brigham Young-Hawaii.
Jaffurs leads golf tournament
Hawaii-Hilo's Isaac Jaffurs shot a 4-under 68 yesterday to take the first-round lead in the Western Washington Invitational at the Bellingham Golf and Country Club.
The senior shot 34 on both the front and back nines to lead the Vulcans into a tie for second place heading into today's second round.
UHH's Christopher Armanini is tied for fourth after a 2-under 70.
St. Martin's University (Lacey, Wash.) leads the 14-team race at 285, followed by the Vulcans and the University of British Columbia at 288.
