Library celebrates Filipino history

Hawaii State Library celebrates Filipino-American History Month with an array of activities that kick off with the opening ceremony for a monthlong photography and art display on Saturday at 1:30 p.m.

“;From Street Kid to Governor”; hosts a panel discussion featuring former Gov. Ben Cayetano on Oct. 10 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. in the first-floor reading room. On Oct. 17, “;Boom Boom Brown—A Celebration of Filipino Youth Culture”;—a program showcasing visual arts, poetry and dance—will be presented from noon to 4 p.m. in the courtyard.
