Jaymason Lee rifled six touchdown passes, including three to Shaydon Kehano, as Castle trounced McKinley 41-14 last night at Ticky Vasconcellos Stadium.

Lee led the Knights to a 41-0 lead by intermission and didn't play in the second half. He finished with 213 passing yards (13-for-18) with no interceptions, spoiling the Tigers' homecoming night.

“;We just worked hard coming back from our loss,”; the junior said, referring to a defeat to Roosevelt two weeks ago. Castle had a bye last weekend.

The Knights improved to 2-2 in the Oahu Interscholastic Association Red East (4-2 overall) while McKinley slipped to 1-3 (2-4 overall).

Kehano finished with six catches for 100 yards, but didn't play any offense in the second half. He stayed on the field for defense and punting duties through part of the second half.

In addition to Kehano, Lee's scoring tosses went to Joshua Kong and Austin Dawson.

“;I trust all my receivers and my line gave me time to throw,”; Lee said.

Next up for Castle is Windward rival Kailua, which defeated Roosevelt 42-10 on Friday.

“;We can build on this win for that game,”; Lee said.

McKinley struggled to move the ball consistently partly because of 11 penalties (97 yards). Castle had 101 yards in penalties, but also had quick-strike capability out of the run-and-shoot offense.

“;Coach Nelson (Maeda) does an amazing job with those guys,”; McKinley coach Bobby Grey said. “;They're always one of the best programs in the state. He doesn't sacrifice the team for individuals. Nelson gets the most out of what's dealt to him. They're well-coached and well-disciplined.”;

Castle scored touchdowns on all six of its possessions in the first half.

No. 1 Kahuku 28, Kaimuki 0

Quarterback Evan Moe threw for two scores and the ground attack accounted for two more as the Red Raiders shut out the Bulldogs.

Kahuku's defense picked off Bulldogs quarterback Eddie Char four times in the rout.

No. 2 Mililani 47, Nanakuli 0

Mililani's Spencer Sword caught a 60-yard TD pass from Trent McKinney to tally the first score.

Bryson Calma, Ethan Cook, Taz Stevenson, Zachary Payomo and Aven Santiago also scored touchdowns for the Trojans.

No. 3 Saint Louis 39, Word of Life 18

The Firebrands controlled the clock with their endless ground attack, but their defense couldn't contain the Crusaders' Kaeo Aliviado.

Aliviado found the end zone twice, first on a 70-yard punt return for a touchdown and then on a 60-yard screen pass.

Pearl City 17, Waialua 7

Cyrus Coen ran for 84 yards and two touchdowns as the Chargers beat back the Bulldogs.

Coen punched in a 2-yard dive in the second quarter. Coming out of halftime and the Chargers defense sacked Waialua quarterback Matthew Abad twice.
