UH's Tinnin will miss season

Hawaii women's basketball forward Megan Tinnin will not play for the Rainbow Wahine this season, but coach Dana Takahara-Dias indicated the senior could return in the 2010-11 campaign.

Tinnin, of Albuquerque, N.M., left school for “;family reasons,”; Takahara-Dias said.

“;She has plans on returning,”; the coach said. “;Of course we wish her well. We look forward to her return.”;

Tinnin, who has a redshirt year available, started 29 games last year and was second on the team in scoring with 10.3 ppg behind Keisha Kanekoa. Tinnin led the team in 3-pointers with 55.

 

Vulcans 14th at St. Martin's Invite

The Hawaii-Hilo men's golf team was in 14th place after the first round of the St. Martin's University Invitational at Olympia, Wash., yesterday.

Neil Cabico led the Vulcans with a 2-over-par 74, good for a tie for 18th place.

Ryan Felix (79) is in 59th place, with Logan Goulding and Isaac Jaffurs (80) tied for 66th place.
