Local rock bands Black Square (pictured) and Upstanding Youth team up for a pair of live performances tonight at Hawaiian Brian's Billiards.
The longtime local favorite pool hall recently added live entertainment after remodeling a portion of the room and turning it into a lounge. The music starts at 8:30 p.m. with Upstanding Youth, immediately followed by Black Square.
No cover charge before 9 p.m. tonight; validated parking is available for $1.25.

Promoter Matty Liu recently launched a new, weekly showcase for local bands at Lulu's Waikiki.
This week, the “;Saturday Night Surf Party”; features a performance by Quadraphonix, with free admission all night and Primo Beer on special for $3. Doors open at 10 p.m.

Chinatown favorite DJ Steve Aoki returns to Honolulu next week as the featured guest at NextDoor's “;Bikini Beach Party”; on Tuesday.
Doors open at 9 p.m. for the 21-and-over crowd, and everyone who shows up in a bathing suit will receive a free mixtape. He'll be joined at the club by local openers The Hot Muffins, DJ KSM and the Nocturnal Sound Krew's DJ Eskae, DJ Compose and DJ Jami. Call 688-8055 for pre-sale ticket information.
Along with the party, Aoki will also make an appearance at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Doraku Waikiki.
