» Lucas Vinson was shot to death in Iraq. He worked for Houston-based KBR, the primary contractor in Iraq. A photo of him on Page 8 yesterday was misidentified as Spc. Beyshee O. Velez, the Schofield Barracks soldier accused of killing him.
» The Web site for First Books, a national literacy advocacy group sponsoring the What Book Got You Hooked? contest, is hsblinks.com/ro. An incorrect Web address was given on Page 10 yesterday.
» A Kauai County bill to ban plastic checkout bags would take effect in July 2010 if it is passed by the County Council. A scheduled vote yesterday was deferred until Oct. 7. A subheadline on Page 23 yesterday said the implementation date would be January 2011.
Clarification
» Melvin Wright Jr. and Denise Wright, parents of a malnourished girl who nearly starved to death, are divorced. A Page 8 story yesterday stated they are a couple.
