Wahine win soccer match

Britta Bourne scored the game-winning goal in the 83rd minute to lead the Hawaii soccer team over Cal State Bakersfield 2-1 in Bakersfield, Calif., last night.

The Wahine improved to 2-6-1 while the Roadrunners dropped to 4-6.

Kristyn Shapka scored the other goal for UH.

Yamazawa repeats in Maui

Marc Collie of Canada and women's defending champion Yoko Yamazawa of Japan earned victories at the 39th Maui Marathon yesterday.

Collie, 38, beat Gregory Christopher by more than 8 minutes with his time of 2 hours, 41 minutes, 15 seconds.

Yamazawa won the women's race for the second straight year, finishing the course in 3:14:37 to beat runner-up Hiroko Endo by more than 7 minutes.
