Rainbow Wahine drop close contest in Northridge
The Rainbow Wahine came out firing against the Cal State Northridge Matadors but came up blank, losing 1-0 at Matador Soccer Field yesterday. Hawaii outshot the Matadors 29-8, including the first six shots of the game, but was unable to capitalize. Cal State Northridge's Farryn Townley scored the game's lone goal at the 15:41 mark and the Matadors never looked back. CSNU goalie Kellie Brenner was solid the whole night with 12 saves and knocking the Rainbow Wahine to 1-6-1.

BYUH runners sweep honors
After her performance in last week's Hawaii Pacific Invitational, Brigham Young-Hawaii cross country runner Katherine Buxton was named the Pacific West Conference runner of the week.
The sophomore from Gettysburg, Pa., finished the 5K course in a career-best time of 18 minutes, 51 seconds, which was tops among conference runners and fifth place overall.
On the men's side, Seasiders senior Brendan McMaster took home the conference's weekly honor after his record-breaking performance at the Hawaii Pacific Invitational last weekend.
The senior from Tempe, Ariz., broke a 3-year-old 8K school record by 33 seconds with a time of 24:52 to take the overall title and lead his team to a third-place finish.
