”;HOLLLAAA!”;

SoHo Mixed Media Bar, 80 S. Pauahi St. / 688-8813

The '80s have reigned supreme in Chinatown in recent years, but Heyday Graphics and local photographer Ana “;La Cutie”; Monarrez aim to bring the focus forward to the '90s tomorrow.

“;HOLLLAAA!!!”; is a new monthly at SoHo Mixed Media Bar scheduled for every second Saturday of the month. The party's flier describes the music selection as “;hip-hop, pop and alternative,”; so expect a diverse variety of tunes from an as-yet-unannounced lineup of resident DJs.

John Feary Fundraiser

Pipeline Cafe, 805 Pohukaina St. / 589-1999

Local nightclub Pipeline Cafe opens its doors for a good cause once again—this time, it's to help raise money for a local musician struggling to pay his medical bills.

John Feary suffered a brain hemorrhage earlier this summer and has been in and out of the hospital for various treatments. Like most working musicians, he doesn't have medical insurance and must come up with the money to pay his bills.

On Sunday, stand-up comedian and 102.7 Da Bomb morning show co-host Kaleo Pilanca will host a fundraiser concert at the club. He'll be joined on stage by One Drop, Ten Feet, Nesian N.I.N.E. , Weldon Kekauoha, Kimo Opiana and Ernie Cruz Jr.

Doors open at 6 p.m. that night; all of the proceeds from the $20 cover charge will be donated to Feary.

To purchase $15 presale tickets or make a donation, call Pilanca at 429-8255.
