WSU opened its doors in 1892 as the Washington Agricultural College and School of Science with 13 collegiate and 46 preparatory students. It was founded in Pullman in 1890 and is a land-grant university that conducts transformational research and provides world-class education to more than 25,000 students statewide. The university's statewide system includes campuses in Spokane, the Tri-Cities (Kennewick, Pasco, Richland) and Vancouver as well as regional learning centers.
