Question: I recently lost my job and have to move and give up my pet. Does the Hawaiian Humane Society charge a pet surrender fee?
Answer: The Humane Societys request $25 to assist with the high cost of veterinary care, housing, quality food, exercising and training expenses, as well as the many other services that are employed to contribute to your pet's quality of life and well being.
However if an owner expresses that this or any amount is a hardship, the fee is waived and community donations pay for all expenses.
