Team hawaii tied for second
FORT WAYNE, Ind. » Hawaii is tied with South Carolina for second place going into the third and final round of the 2009 USGA Women's State Team Championship in Fort Wayne, Ind.
Kacie Komoto fired a 74 in yesterday's second round. Xyra Suyetsugu had a 75, and Cyd Okino shot an 82.
Georgia is in the lead by three strokes.
Alabama, Mississippi, Minnesota, Maryland, Colorado, California and Tennessee round out the top 10.

HPU hoops signs 2 to women's team
Moanalua graduate Britni Ronolo and Brooke Steindl of Queensland, Australia have signed to play women's basketball at Hawaii Pacific University.
Ronolo, a 5-foot-9 forward, arrives as a sophomore after playing last season at Holy Names University (Calif.), where she averaged 11 points and six rebounds.
Steindl is a 5-10 guard who attended Queensland University of Technology last year.
Hilo soccer teams blanked on road
The Hawaii-Hilo men's and women's soccer teams were defeated by CSU San Bernardino and Cal State L.A. yesterday, 3-1 and 3-0.
Go Eto scored the lone goal for the Vulcan men (0-3), while the UHH women fell to 0-4.
