Amemiya heads QB Club slate
Keith Amemiya heads the list of guest speakers at tomorrow's meeting of the Honolulu Quarterback Club.
Amemiya, executive director of the Hawaii High School Athletic Association, created the HHSAA SOS (Save our Sports) campaign to offset state budget cuts to public school athletic programs.
Dr. Stephanie Dean of the Hui Nalu Canoe Club and Anne LaPorte, volunteer chair of the American Lung Association of Hawaii's Breathe Ride, also will speak.
Lunch starts at 11:30 a.m. and the program begins at noon at the Pagoda Hotel's LaSalle Room. The general public is invited.
Chan takes OCC invitational
Lorens Chan won the Oahu Country Club Men's Invitational by a commanding 13 shots yesterday.
A sophomore at 'Iolani School, Chan led by seven going into yesterday's final round and fired a 5-under 66 to pull away and finish the 54-hole even at 8-under 205.
Ryan Perez finished second at 218, followed by Jonathan Ota at 220.
