If there was a Hawaii high school fantasy football league, P.J. Minaya probably would be snapped up in the first few picks in the draft.

Pac-Five's senior quarterback passed for 239 yards and four touchdowns and London Amorin hauled in eight passes for 166 yards and two touchdowns ... and then the second quarter started.

Minaya went on to complete 21 of 33 passes for 424 yards and eight touchdowns as the Wolfpack (2-0) beat the Tigers 66-40 in an interleague shootout at Roosevelt yesterday.

Minaya hit Amorin, a senior wideout, for a 51-yard touchdown on the Wolfpack's third play from scrimmage for a quick 7-0 lead to kick off the Madden NFL 10-like action for the fans at Ticky Vasconcellos Stadium.

McKinley's Kioco Melson stepped in front of a Minaya pass on the Wolfpack's second offensive series and returned the interception 41 yards for a touchdown to bring the Tigers (0-1) within 7-6 with 9:25 remaining in the first quarter.

“;Give McKinley credit. They did a good job taking away Darin (Kamealoha),”; Pac-Five coach Kip Botelho said of Minaya's favorite target.

No problem for Minaya, who spread the wealth to other receivers, hitting Jordan Doi down the left sideline for a 37-yard touchdown on the Wolfpack's ensuing drive and connecting with Chalson Baition from 5 yards out to put Pac-Five up 21-6 with about 6 minutes left in the first quarter.

“;P.J. did a great job again,”; said Botelho. “;When the other team takes (Darin) away, we gotta go to the guys who are open.”;

Minaya tossed two more first-half touchdown passes to Amorin and ended the half with six scoring strikes and 373 yards passing, as the Wolfpack led 52-20 at halftime.

“;At the end of last season, (P.J.) started trusting me more,”; said Amorin, who attends Island Pacific Academy. “;If I keep catching the ball, he can depend on me more often.”;

Kamealoha, Minaya's schoolmate from Hanalani, made the most of his touches. The senior slotback pulled in a pass from a scrambling Minaya and scampered down the right sideline for a 49-yard touchdown in the second quarter.

Tigers quarterback Iosefatu Sio led a brief McKinley spurt after halftime with a 48-yard scoring run and 41-yard touchdown strike to William Rollman to bring the Tigers to within 59-34.
