Elizabeth Paek, a family law attorney, received the Hawaii State Bar Association's Pro Bono Service Award. Paek has spent the last 10 years in personal injury law, bankruptcy/collections law, criminal law and family law in her own practice.
Since 1998 Paek has volunteered with the Legal Aid Society of Hawaii. She is also a mediator at the Mediation Center of the Pacific and serves on the boards of Helping Hands Hawaii and the Hawaii State Bar Association's Family Law Section.
St. Michael & All Angels Episcopal Church was given $4,000 by the First Hawaiian Bank Foundation to renovate its food pantry, called Loaves & Fishes. The pantry annually distributes 25,000 pounds of food and is dependent on monetary and food donations from the community.
Child & Family Service received a gift of $5,000 from Kiewit Building Group for the new Emergency Shelter and Transitional Housing facility in West Oahu for children and families experiencing domestic violence.
