Hawaii Kai man charged in death of girl, 15, by alcohol poisoning
Authorities have charged a 24-year-old Hawaii Kai man who allegedly served alcohol to underage females, including a 15-year-old Papakolea girl who died of alcohol poisoning.
Michael D.D. Clark of Kahena Street was charged Thursday night with five counts of promoting intoxicating liquor to a person under the age of 21, a misdemeanor.
Police said Clark was identified as the host of a party at his home between 10:45 p.m. July 29 and 4 a.m. July 30. He allegedly served alcoholic beverages to two girls, age 15 and 16, and three 18-year-old women, police said.
Clark was the subject of a CrimeStoppers bulletin.
Police alleged Clark served alcohol to 15-year-old Makamae Ah Mook Sang, who died of alcohol poisoning.
He is scheduled to appear Sept. 18 in Honolulu District Court.
Bicyclist killed in crash with car, closing Kamehameha Highway
A bicyclist who appeared to be in his 20s was killed yesterday afternoon in a crash involving a car on Kamehameha Highway in Kualoa.
The accident occurred shortly before 5:40 p.m. in the 49-800 block of Kamehameha Highway.
Emergency Medical Services personnel responded and found the man dead at the scene, and pronounced him dead at 6:23 p.m., said Bryan Cheplic, spokesman for the Emergency Services Department.
Police closed off the highway shortly after 6 p.m. in both directions.
Further details were not available at press time.
Firefighters training at Pali Lookout find man's decomposed remains
Fire rescue personnel conducting rappelling exercises in the Pali Lookout area yesterday found the decomposed body of a man who appeared to be in his late 50s.
Firefighters came across the body between 2:30 and 2:40 p.m. at the base of the Pali Lookout between the first and second tunnels.
After an initial investigation by police, firefighters brought out the body, said fire Capt. Robert Main.
Police were still trying to identify the body last night.
Hauula man arrested after girl, 12, reports she was sexually assaulted
Police arrested a 39-year-old Hauula man who allegedly sexually assaulted a 12-year-old girl.
The man was arrested Thursday at his home on two counts of first-degree sexual assault and five counts of third-degree sexual assault.
The girl reported the man allegedly sexually assaulted her from 2008 to 2009, police said.
Police released the man pending further investigation.
