Fujikawa opens with 71 in Europe

Honolulu's Tadd Fujikawa shot a 1-over 71 in yesterday's first round of the European Tour's KLM Open at the Kennemer Golf and Country Club in Zandvoort, Netherlands.

The 18-year-old graduate of Moanalua High is tied for 76th and trails opening-day leaders Paul McGinley of Ireland and Scotland's Gary Orr by seven shots and will need to shoot under par today to make his first European Tour cut in four tries.

Part of the afternoon group that had to sit and wait out a 60-minute rain storm, Fujikawa carded three birdies and four bogeys.
