2 arrested officers lose authority
Two Honolulu police officers, charged in Las Vegas for marijuana possession after fleeing from authorities, have been relieved of their police authority.
In such cases, an officer's gun and badge are taken.
Officers Kevin Fujioka and Shayne Souza, who were in Las Vegas for a police and firefighters softball tournament, were arrested Saturday and charged with marijuana possession, among other crimes.
Honolulu Police Commission Chairwoman Christine Camp revealed the department's action at a commission meeting yesterday.
Sand Island recreation area reopens
The Sand Island State Recreation Area will reopen at 11 a.m. tomorrow, in time for the arrival of campers with permits issued for the Admission Day holiday weekend, the state said.
The area was closed after a water leak was discovered Monday afternoon.
The leak has accelerated the completion of a new water system that began construction in mid-February, the state said.
Fest features locally made products
The three-day Made in Hawaii Festival at the Neal S. Blaisdell Exhibition Hall and Arena beginning tomorrow will feature 500 exhibitors from throughout the islands, nine top local chefs and award-winning entertainers.
The exhibition is tomorrow and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. General admission is $3 and free for children 6 and under.
First Hawaiian Bank's 14th annual Made in Hawaii Festival showcases anything made in Hawaii, including art, food, bath and beauty products, clothing and accessories, jewelry, lauhala products, plants and produce, and woodwork.

Maui to show tax scofflaws' names online
Maui County plans to publish on its Web site the names of owners who are delinquent in their property taxes by more than three years.
The county, with $8.6 million in unpaid real property taxes, also plans to list the names of the top 25 delinquent accounts.
Property tax administrator Scott Teruya said the state has had great success in increasing collections after initiating a similar program for delinquent income taxes.
Teruya said the listing can also alert some people who may not know their family owes property taxes.
Teruya said sometimes properties owned by many people become delinquent in their accounts for lack of communication.
The listing of delinquent accounts is scheduled to start Oct. 1.
