Readers of the Star-Bulletin's online edition can respond to stories posted there. The following are some of those. Instead of names, pseudonyms are generally used online. They have been removed.
”;Funding loss slows 911 upgrades,”; Star-Bulletin, Aug. 10: See what happens when our legislators raid a fund, such as the e911 funds, to balance the budget, rather than cutting waste, mismanagement, theft and fraud. Now they need upgrades, but alas, no money.
———
Am I understanding this correctly? If the money I pay toward funding e911 is used for anything but the e911 system, that strikes me as bait and switch.

”;Developer plans 12,000 homes on 'the best ag land' on Oahu,”; Star-Bulletin, Aug. 12: I have to agree that these local developers are permanently changing the landscape of what is our future sustainability (Hawaii 2050) for the sake of their wallets. In the finite space of Oahu there has to be a cap on building and a slowing of our population growth. It cannot go on unchecked without serious environmental consequences.

Where has the Sierra Club been? Instead of killing the Superferry, it should be doing what its job is supposed to be — protecting the land.

”;Many feel the muumuu is an endangered species,”; Star-Bulletin, Aug. 13: The muumuu may have been introduced by the rigid missionaries to cover the body, but I think that a woman in a colorful muumuu is graceful and free in spirit.
———
The muumuu is alive and well. I own 30 muumuus, and wear them day and night. Where? To the opera (Sunday matinee), restaurants (even to fine-dining establishments), theaters, picnics, meetings and around the house — even to bed.

”;Land Board's 'Plan B' ups fees at parks, harbors, campgrounds,”; Star-Bulletin, Aug. 14: This is a good, sensible, responsible plan to fix our deteriorating park facilities and small boat harbors. For four decades, these state facilities have been neglected and allowed to simply crumble.

The bottom line is you want to play then you must pay. Why should all of the taxpayers put out money for a few who can afford the luxury of owning a boat, etc.
