Woman, 32, arrested in beer-bottle assault
Police arrested yesterday a 32-year-old woman who officials said struck a 29-year-old woman in the head with a glass beer bottle on Feb. 21.
The victim suffered serious injuries, police said.
The suspect was arrested on suspicion of first-degree assault. She was released pending further investigation.
Video cameras filmed suspect in 2 theft cases
Police arrested a 38-year-old homeless man yesterday in two separate thefts that were caught by video surveillance.
Police said the man took a laptop computer from an Internet banking location in Waikiki at 10:05 a.m. May 8. The laptop's owner left the computer on a table when he went to use the restroom. When he returned, the laptop was gone, police said.
Police, who viewed the video footage and saw the homeless man taking the computer and leaving, were able to identify the suspect.
The man was also reportedly captured on surveillance video May 3 entering two vehicles in a Waikiki parking garage and taking property, police said.
Police later identified the suspect through fingerprints recovered at the scene, police said.
The man was arrested on suspicion of second-degree theft for the computer theft, and on suspicion of two counts of unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle, and third- and fourth-degree theft.
Crowbar used to threaten man in Waipahu robbery
Police said a man in his early 20s, armed with a crowbar, robbed an 18-year-old man in Waipahu early Monday morning.
The victim, another 18-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman were sitting outside the victim's vehicle when the suspect drove up and parked his vehicle nearby, police said. The suspect got out of his vehicle, walked up to the victim, threatened him with the crowbar and demanded his valuables. The suspect then took the victim's belongings, searched his vehicle and left in his own vehicle, police said.
