The Hawaii Glass Artists' annual exhibit at the ARTS at Marks Garage has always presented to the public the gamut of possibilities in glasswork.

This year, its seventh, is no different. Pieces range from the functional to the figurative, crafted from numerous techniques. All were made by 15 or so members of Hawaii Glass Artists.

“;The show looks great,”; says Mark Mitsuda, president of the group. “;There are a wide range of techniques represented, from blown to cast, which is typical.”;

Expect to see pieces by the usual big names in local glass art, such as Rick Mills and Alan Ness. A particularly interesting group of works are the collaborative creations of Big Isle artists Stephanie Ross and Hugh Jenkins.

“;Stephanie is a painter, and she worked out the colors. Hugh executed her ideas. They've taken an interesting approach to their work,”; says Mitsuda.

This year the show will include a display of glass manufacturing equipment, including a furnace, reheating chamber and various tools.
