Kauai man injured, flown to Queen's

An 18-year-old Kapaa man was taken by medical helicopter to the Queen's Medical Center yesterday afternoon after sustaining critical injuries while trimming trees, according to a Kauai County news release.

Garcia was trimming trees from the basket of an industrial forklift on private property in Kealia yesterday morning when the forklift started rocking and then rolled over onto its side, the news release said. Garcia, who was about 40 feet high in the basket, was ejected.

He was transported to Wilcox Hospital and was later airlifted to Queen's, where he was reported in critical condition.

Police investigating man's death
