Driver in collision faces DUI charge
A 31-year-old Kailua man was arrested for drunken driving after the silver Toyota truck he was driving hit a mo-ped Thursday night at Manono Street and Maluniu Avenue in Kailua.
The 41-year-old Kaneohe man who was driving the mo-ped is in critical condition in a hospital following the 10:25 p.m. collision.
Missing boy believed to be in Hawaii
Big Island police are helping Arizona authorities in a nationally publicized search for a missing 9-year-old boy.
Benjamin Kaiser-Griffin was reported missing on May 21. He is believed to be in Hawaii with his noncustodial father, 43-year-old James Anthony Kaiser.
Kaiser-Griffin is 4 feet tall and 65 pounds, with blond hair and brown eyes. His father is 6 feet tall, 200 pounds, and has blond hair and hazel eyes.
The case has been posted on the Web site for the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
