Question: Are there any guidelines for using off-leash dog parks?

Answer: Most off leash parks have rangers to educate pet owners about ways to enjoy the community spaces harmoniously. And park regulars often become friends and help police the parks informally.

Some things to remember are these. Owners must clean up after their dogs and be in the park, within view and be able to maintain voice control of their pets. Dogs owners must have a leash in hand at all times. Dogs are to be leashed while entering and exiting the park. It's not wise to bring food in to a dog park. Parks are also an excellent breeding ground for fleas so it's advisable to ensure that your pet is on a preventative program for fleas and ticks. Dogs should be escorted out of the park if they become aggressive or dangerous. County law requires that all dogs are licensed.
